Rebecca T. Deschner

Rebecca Ann Tittle Deschner, 86, of New Braunfels, TX passed away on Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at Colonial Manor Care Center. She was born to Lloyd Maston Tittle, Sr. and Roberta Tidwell Tittle on January 21, 1927 in Meridian, TX. She grew up in Brownsville, TX where she graduated from high school and went to Jr. College. In Jr. College, she got a degree in book keeping. She went on to Southwestern University where she graduated with a degree in sociology and a minor in psychology. She was a member of Tri Delta Society. At Southwestern, she met Reinhart Deschner. After graduation, she taught elementary school for 8 years in Brownsville. Rebecca and Reinhart married on December 17, 1949 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Brownsville.

All three sons, Bill, Bob, and Monte were born in Brownsville. In 1957 they moved to Highland, IN and had their 1st daughter, Rose Ann. In 1959, they moved to Seymour, IN, where their 2nd daughter, Janette was born.

Rebecca was active in all the children’s activities. She was president of the PTA. She was head over the parent’s group for the swim team. She helped raise money for football, wrestling, track, swimming, volleyball, and baseball. She helped with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, and Girls Club. She was a member of the camping group, the Knight Owls. She also volunteered in the church with Women’s Circle, Stephen’s Ministries, and nursery supervisor. Rebecca and Reinhart were proud to have all five children become Christians and graduate college.

In 1977, they moved to Monicello, IL and retired to New Braunfels, TX in 1989. She enjoyed helping others, playing bridge, painting, crafts, sewing, and gardening. She had a a green thumb and could grow anything.

She is survived by her husband, Reinhart P. Deschner of New Braunfels; children, William Deschner and wife Lorrie, Robert Deschner, Monte Deschner, Rose Ann Lawson and husband Rick, and Janette McConaha; sister, Mary Tittle; nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tittle, III and niece, Michelle Knox Bemis; grandchildren, Ben Deschner, Matt Deschner, Katie Deschner, Daniel Deschner, Marqaux Deschner, Ryan and Katie Deschner, John Deschner, Karis Deschner, Hannah Deschner, Hughes Deschner, Shawn Korby, Alicia and David Scales, Danielle and Joey Thomas, Amanda McConaha, Melinda McConaha, and Melissa McConaha; great-grandchildren, Samuel Reinhart Deschner, Kelby Korby, Leah Korby, Cinea Scales, Jameson Scales, Tye Thomas and Connor Thomas.

Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Friday at Zoeller Funeral Home and continue until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013 at First United Methodist Church New Braunfels with Reverend Joseph Ray officiating . Interment will follow in Gonzales, Texas at the Monthalia United Methodist Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Memorial Contributions may be given to Southwestern University: P.O. Box 770, Georgetown, TX 78627-0770.
