Penny Lee (Steed) Finn, formerly of Texas City, Texas and recently of New Braunfels, passed away on Tuesday, January 02, 2018 at the age of 74. She was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galveston, Texas on December 13, 1943 to Jeff and Evelyn Steed. Penny and her family eventually relocated to Arkansas where she graduated from Forrest City High School. She later moved to Texas City where she attended and worked at the College of the Mainland. Penny ran the Innovations Computer Lab, where she dearly loved assisting students and employees. She was a gifted artist and thoroughly enjoyed her many art classes. After retiring from COM she moved to New Braunfels, Texas to be closer to her son and granddaughter. Penny had a passion for painting, but most of all sewing dresses and costumes for her granddaughter, Abigail. She will be greatly missed.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, a baby daughter; and brothers, Billy Ray Steed and Jerry Rex Steed. She was survived by her son, Michael David Finn; granddaughter and “light of her life”, Abigail Leeann Finn, brother, Jeff Steed and wife Marva, former husband, Charlie Finn and wife Linda; and cousins that were like sisters, Carol Campbell and Margaret Watts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
