Mary Ellen Simmons Preston

Beloved mother, Mary Ellen Simmons Preston went home to Jesus on November 14, 2022 in Kingston, Oklahoma at the age of 89. She was born to Ocy Clay and Hazel Eyrl Simmons, both of Durant, Oklahoma. She was an only child.

Mary loved, first and foremost, her grandchildren, and was a child at heart. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, water, sports, dancing, and travel. Mary began her nursing career, then moved into the hotel industry. After her retirement, she purchased a limousine business and started writing articles for the Hondo newspaper. Her special love was the Eastern Stars in New Braunfels, TX and Hondo, TX chapters under the name of Mary Taulbee.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Albert Richard Preston.

Mary's surviving children are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pilkilton, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Krueger, and Mr. Charles Michael Pilkilton Sr. and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Our mother will forever be loved and missed by her family and friends.

A public viewing & visitation for Mary will be held Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A chapel service will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A burial service will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 TX Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
