Francisco Lopez, Jr. (Pancho) of New Braunfels passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital New Braunfels at the age of 77. He was born February 9, 1936 to Francisco Lopez, Sr. and Santos Morales Lopez in Zorn Texas in Guadalupe County. Francisco Married Francisca Hernandez on April 1, 1966 in San Marcos, Texas. He worked for Mission Valley Textile Mill and then for the Comal County Sheriff’s Office retiring from there. Francisco was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help New Braunfels, Knights of Columbus Council 4183 and the Guadalupanas of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. His survivors include his wife Francisca Lopez; daughters, Juanita Lopez and her husband Joe Hernandez, Mary Alice Lopez and her husband Felix Alvarado; sons, Francisco Lopez III and his wife Rosie, Jesus Santos Lopez and his wife Chela; sisters Euaurda Silva, Nicolasa Villanueva, Oliva Barboza (Ricky); brother, Valentine Lopez (Dolores); grandchildren Thomasine Varela (Eddie), Brittney Hernandez (Adam), Alex Varela (Destiny), Rosalena Lopez, Joshua Velasquez, Ophilia Lopez, Francisco Lopez IV, Blanca Estella Lopez; step-grandchildren, Adrian Alvarado, Kaylynn Alvarado; great-grandchildren, Tristin Varela, Micayla Gonzales, Azariah Varela and Adley Pastrano. Preceding him in death was his parents Francisco Lopez Sr. and Santos Morales Lopez; brothers, Florentino Lopez, Alberto Lopez, Bernardo Lopez, Reyes Lopez, Juan Antonio Lopez. Active pallbearers will be Francisco Lopez III, Jesus Santos Lopez, Joshua Velasquez, Alex Varela, Felix Alvarado, and Joe Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Francisco Lopez IV, Tristin Varela, Eddie Gonzales and Adrian Villanueva. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7 pm Tuesday evening. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the church on Wednesday so please meet at the church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Lopez Family Cemetery in Zorn, Texas.
