Carolyn Marie Ritchey Hendrickson

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry J. Ritchey and Catherine M. Ritchey of Houston, River Bend Camp, Concan, Texas and Zapata, Texas; sister, Margaret E. Ritchey of Houston, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Ralph “Hank” Hendrickson of New Braunfels; son, Robert “Bobby” Ham III of Kaysville, Utah and his wife, Marge Ham; grandson, Tyler Ham; granddaughter, Aubrey Ham; stepson, Mickey and Nancy Hendrickson of San Antonio and step-daughter, Patty and Ben Grimm of Lenore, Idaho. Other nearest surviving relatives are, Rick and Gayle Whitehead, Pat Grabowski, Jim and Shirley Duke, Jerry and Vyra Hendrickson and Bob and Barbara Hendrickson. Honorary pallbearers are: Rick Whitehead, Jim Duke, Bob Ham, Tyler Ham, Ben Grimm and Mickey Hendrickson.

Carolyn graduated from Austin High School in Houston and attended college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She loved the Frio River, hill county and especially a small camping resort called River Bend built by her father, Harry. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her husband Hank traveling, playing golf and operating and managing golf courses throughout Idaho, Oregon and the New Braunfels area. Carol was a loving wife, special mother and proud grandmother. She enjoyed travel, being with friends, relatives and those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all that cherished her.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Zoeller Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in the Hill Country Memorial Gardens. The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.
