Betty Larine Kneupper Rust, age 84, passed away on September 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by family. She was born December 11, 1932 in Kendalia, TX to Johnnie and Thelma Kneupper, the fourth of nine children. In 1950 she married Clarence Rust of Spring Branch, TX. Before moving to their beloved Canyon Lake home in 1972, they resided in Blanco and Marion where they had four children. Although her main love was caring for her family, she also worked several years as a school cafeteria cook and a day care provider in her lake home. She was like a grandma to many young children that came to know and love her as more than just a babysitter, and the young mothers who depended on her often sought her sage advice. Betty was well known for her delicious sweet rice and squash pie. Never a family gathering went by without one of these luscious treats.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence Henry Rust; children: Rocky (Kathleen), Brenda (David) Rabenaldt, Randy (Kay), Teresa (Kenny) Sturm; grandchildren: Jill (Brett) LeSage, Eric (Laura) Rust, Jimmy (Laura) Gallenbach, Julia (Brannon) Dreibrodt, Trey (Jenn) Rust, Trint (Sarah) Rust, Casey Sturm and Seth Sturm; step-grandchildren: Amanda Stevenson and Dustin Rabenaldt; great-grandchildren: Wade, Jake, and Paityn LeSage, Hunter, Ryan and Hagen Rust, and soon to arrive baby Harper Dreibrodt; step-great-granddaughters Sydney and Savannah Stevenson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law Gus (Betty Lou) Rust, Sisters-in-law May Kneupper, Valeska Kruckemeyer, Viola Stollewerk and Dorothy Rust.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers James and Rodney Kneupper, brothers-in-law Waldie (Telka), Raymond (Dorene), John (Margaret), Arthur Rust, Herbert Stollewerk, Charles Schlameus, Bill Barnett and Glen Edge, sisters-in-law Elvira Rose, Velma (Oscar) Jonas, Mary Wegner (Kermit and Milton) and Louella Kneupper.
