Wade Hampton Davis Jr. passed away peacefully at CarolinaEast Medical Center on November 25, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade Hampton Davis Sr and Faye Tew Davis; brother, Alton Davis; sister, Marie Hancock; and great-niece, Angela Bjork Fowler.
Wade Jr. is survived by his sister, Alice Faye Heath of Cove City; three nieces, Gloria Bjork (Allen), Lisa Peszko and Rhonda Weldin (Joe); great-niece, Kelsey Farnham (Josh); great-nephews, Chris Bjork (Meredith), Matthew Peszko, and Jonathan Weldin (Rachel); and great-great-nieces, Emmie & Sailor Hancock and Olivia Farnham.
Wade enjoyed watching old movies, listening to his record collection, especially, The Four Seasons, and spending time with friends. He especially loved listening to Mr. David Deller play the guitar.
Wade graduated from New Bern High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from East Carolina University.
For many years, Wade worked at Singer Sewing Machine in Greenville and Western Southern Life Insurance Company. He also had several jobs as a cook before he had a stroke in 2014 and entered Pruitt Neuse.
A special thanks to CarolinaEast Medical Center staff and the ICU and 4th floor (Comfort Care) Nurses and Doctors. The family would also like to thank the staff at Pruitt Health Neuse for taking care of Wade the last ten years. God Bless you all.
Funeral services with be held at Cotten Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Wade's memory to Asbury United Methodist Church in Cove City, NC.
