Randy proudly served his country by serving in the US Marine Corps for 6 years in the 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company, 2D FSSG. He was, then, employed for the Federal Bureau of Prisons for 26 years. He was a member of Morgantown Union Lodge No. 4, under the Grand Lodge of West Virginia.
Randy also enjoyed restoring old cars, fishing, turkey hunting, and skeet shooting in his free time. One of the greatest joys of Randy's life was on the sidelines watching Parker cheer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Dee Taylor; daughter, Parker Taylor; sister, Kathy Zickefoose; brother, Mike Taylor; and many loving family and close friends.
Randy is preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Taylor; and sister, Verna Taylor.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home. A Celebration of Randy's Life will begin at 2:00 PM. Randy will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park with Military Honors and Masonic Rites conducted by Doric Lodge with Past Master Johnny Surles conducting the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Randy's honor to the VFW Post 2514, which is located on 3850 Butler Road, New Bern, NC 28560.
