Minnie Smith Cates, 89, of New Bern, died Sunday, January 20, 2013.
She was a member of West New Bern Presbyterian Church and she and husband owned Western Auto Store.
She is survived by two daughters, Joanne Ruddock of Raleigh; Brenda Cowan of Vanceboro; one sister, Ethel Weathers of Durham; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
