Mary Theresa Flaherty

Mary Theresa Flaherty, 94, of New Bern died Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Flaherty.

From Bayside, Queens, NY, she moved to New Bern in 1999 and was a member of Saint Paul’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children Mary Connelly (John) of New Bern, Sean Flaherty (Cheyenne) of Bayside, NY, Germaine Burns (James) of New Bern; and grandchildren Peter “P.J.” Connelly of New Bern, Matthew Burns of Raleigh, Evan Connelly of Denver, CO, and Lauren Burns (Reddington) of Albemarle.

The family would like to thank Lois Davis for her care and support.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 15 at Cotten Funeral Home with Rev. Carol Grantham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
