John Victor Stanley, Sr., 95, of New Bern, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at his home in Clayton, NC.
Vic retired from the New Bern Fire Department, where he was Fire Chief for 3 years and proudly served his country in the Navy. He was also a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and helped build First Church in New Bern. Vic was an avid fisher who loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his son James Stanley and his wife Betty; 2 sisters, Maxine Cooper, and Joyce Wyatt and her husband I.C.; and eighteen grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends for a visitation at Cotten Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 12:00-2:00pm. Graveside service will follow at the Lakeside Chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
