Janice Carol Messer

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Casper and Anna Bell O'Hare.

Janice is survived by two sons; Scott Wayne Bryan of Jacksonville, NC, Matthew Chalmer Messer of New New Bern, NC, daughter, Danielle Danay Allman (Brian aka "Twig") of Havelock, NC, sister, Joyce O'Hare Snellen (Billy) of Bardstown, KY, grandchildren, Jordan Alexis White (Shelby Aragon) of New Bern, NC, Hayley Nicole White of New Bern, NC, Rhiannon Marie Stamper of Beaufort, NC, Lillian Faith Hardin of Beaufort, NC, Rilynn Messer of New Bern, NC, Lathon Messer of New Bern, NC, Nathan Tyson of Ashville, NC, Kaylee Tyson of Ashville, NC, Fara Jessica Bryan of Jacksonville, NC, great grandchildren, Shane Devon Aragon, New Bern, NC, Gracelynn Hope Brechner, of New Bern, NC, Arabella Evelyn Aragon, of New Bern, NC, and her best friend "Dapper" Dan Merriam of Oregon.

Janice was a very religious woman, devoted to God and family. She enjoyed reading, spending time at the library, and furthering her education. Janice liked to knit, take walks, sun bathing, and watching television, but reading was always her favorite activity. She was fun loving and full of life, she will always be remembered as being witty, and having a great sense of humor. Janice cherished family, and her children's friends considered her the neighborhood mom. She respected and honored the Marine Corps and all the other military branches. She will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
