Edward Joseph Jacques, 88, of Havelock, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. SgtMaj (ret) Edward Jacques proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps for over 30 years. Throughout his life he dedicated his life helping others and gave decades of his time to organizations such as; Disabled American Veterans (DAV), TREA (supports all services enlisted personnel and their families), Annunciation Catholic Church, local Boy and Girl Scout troops, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dolores Fones Jacques of Havelock, his daughter, Tracy Jacques Derby of New Bern, and two sons, Patrick Jacques of Bladenboro NC and Christopher Jacques of Wendell NC, grandchildren, (Brandon Derby of New Bern, Lauren Derby Diez of Alexandria VA, Cameron Jacques of Fort Collins CO, Hunter Jacques of Bladenboro NC, Morgan Jacques of Orlando FL. He is survived by his brother Robert Jacques of Sutton, MA. Three sisters; Eileen Jacques Morin of Millbury, MA, Susan Jacques Kallio of Wells, ME, Mary Kathleen Jacques Butcher of Tyler, TX and their loving families.
The family will receive visitors on 20 September at 11AM at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, NC followed by a MASS with military honors at high noon. This will be followed by a time for remembrance of this great man with food and drink in the fellowship hall. Officiating the service will be Father Jim Buchholz. Edward Jacques will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park on 21 September at 10 AM.
