Christy Buszka

Christy Buszka, 46, of Trent Woods, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2023, surrounded by her closest family members. Christy was born in New Bern, NC to Jerry and Debbie Rouse. She grew up in her hometown, with one sister. She met her husband of 22 years while in college, Gene Buszka, also of New Bern, NC.

Christy is survived by her loving husband, Gene; daughter, Amber; her mother, Debbie Rouse; sister, Linda Ipock (Doug) and family (Bailey [Riley] and Kaci); as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Rouse.

Christy held many family, friends, and church members dear to her heart. She had the truest of friendships and shared epic moments that are the center of wonderful, funny, and sentimental stories. Her love was a lifelong commitment.

Our beautiful girl enjoyed planning fun adventures, going on trips, and camping. She found comfort in simple pleasures such as board games, great meals, and incredible landscapes. Her most cherished moments included becoming a wife and soon after, a mother to ‘Ber. Christy’s ability to be resilient, loving, and open hearted made her naturally maternal. She contributed to the development of many remarkable individuals…. Our children are her legacy.

The Almighty blessed us with an invitation to her greatest adventure. Life. She lived it to the fullest and we got to tag along. Christy will be forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Christy's Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors following the service.
