Billy Gene Woolard

Billy Gene Woolard, 75, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. Billy was born October 6, 1948 to the late Gladys Edwards.

Billy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend. His greatest love was his family. He never met a stranger and could sit for hours with anyone telling old stories.

Billy was a veteran of the United States Army. Before his retirement he had a 30 year career at Tryon Palace in New Bern, North Carolina. After his retirement he enjoyed being with his family, taking care of his home, he was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and never missed an episode of Gunsmoke.

Billy is survived by his wife, Brenda Woolard, daughter Nell Woolard Dildy of Charlotte NC and daughter Stacey Dail (son in law Mike Dail) of Winterville NC. He is also survived by his sister Kathy Watson, brother Charles Spain and proceeded in death by his brother Rabbit Woolard. Billys pride and joy was his grandchildren, Evan Dildy, Ryan Dildy and Deanna Dildy all of Charlotte, NC. William Lowery (wife Scarlett) of Winterville NC and Jonathan Lowery of Jacksonville NC and a great granddaughter, Penelope Lowery of Jacksonville NC.

The memories of Billy will be cherished by his family and friends, a day will not go by without thoughts of him.
