Buck Wooten, 85, of 313 Rockledge Rd, New Bern passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. He was born October 21, 1931 to the late John Council Wooten and Mildred Croom Wooten.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Peggie Thompson Wooten; 3 daughters, Sandra Franks (Jesse) of New Bern, and Susan Robinson (Tim) of Raleigh, and Sharon Ward (Richard) of New Bern; sister Dorla Guyton of Morehead City; and grandchildren, Christopher Riggs (Alisha), Cody Franks (Laura), Stephen Robinson (Sheridan), Tracie Brown (Jason), Summer Bohm (David), Bryan Robinson (Jamie), Shelly Whitehead (Corey), Elizabeth Ward and Catherine Ward; and 9 great grandchildren.
Buck was a member of First Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a deacon. He loved his Lord and was a loving husband, father, and amazing “Daddy Buck” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also a member of St. John’s Masonic Lodge No. 3, New Bern Scottish Rite Bodies and the Sudan Shriners.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Seagle officiating. Burial will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
