Audrey Rachel Bright Rice

She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip D. Rice and sons N.C. “Shorty” Rice and Mike Rice.

She was a retired teacher’s assistant for Bridgeton Elementary School, a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her sons and grandkids. She will be remembered by times spent at her kitchen table with her sons and girls. She was a faithful member at St. Delight’s OWFB Church.

She is survived by her sons Phillip “Dal” Rice, Jr., and wife Ada, of Bridgeton and Dana Rice and Mandy Sanders of Vanceboro; daughter-in-laws Brenda Rice and Debbie Rice Smith of New Bern; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Delight OFWB Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at their home at 350 Old Vanceboro Road. Burial will follow the service at Paul Cemetery in Arapahoe.
