Angie was born on May 14th,1944 in Fort Stockton, Texas, the youngest of five children born to Ernesto and Josefina Bustamante.
During her life, Angie held a number of different jobs including serving as a computer administrative assistant for the University of California, Davis. But for most who knew her in her adopted hometown of New Bern, NC, they will always remember her for her time as a customer service manager at Wal-Mart. This is only appropriate as one of Angie’s defining characteristics was her desire and willingness to help others.
Angie was a devoted member of New Song Methodist Church for over 20 years where Sunday services were a high point of her week. Her family was the source of her greatest pride and the thing that she valued above all else, with the possible exception of another Super Bowl title for her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and community members.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ernie and Johnny, sister Fanny and her son, Oscar Jr.
She is survived by her husband Richard “Smitty”, sister Jessie, children Cecilia, Suzanne, Victor, and Ricardo, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous members of her extended family.
A Celebration of Angie's Life will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at New Song Church. The family will receive visitors following the service.
