Born in New York City, NY in 1922 to her parents, Stephen and Victoria Kosinski and was one of six children. She relocated to New Bern, NC after marrying Marion E. Meadows in 1945. She was a loving and gracious lady whose strong spirit and love of family continues to inspire us all. She was a Tryon Palace docent for over fourteen years and ushered numerous NC Governors and their family members through the Palace. Her artistic talents were remarkable. She painted over 50 oil paintings and gave them to family and friends as “her gift.” She was a charter member of Garber United Methodist Church. Her loves included gardening, needlepoint, antiquing, cooking and traveling with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion E. Meadows: her son, Wayne E. Meadows: her parents Stephen and Victoria Kosinski: and her four sisters, Helen, Tess, Olga, and Wanda.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Doreen M. Fulcher and husband, Lee, of Huntsville, AL; her brother, Steve Kosinski of Valley Cottage, NY; daughter-in-law, Donna Meadows, of Fayetteville, NC grandchildren, Natalie Godwin, Judith Shaver, Edward Meadows and Amie Hope; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at New Bern Memorial Cemetery, Chelsea Road, New Bern, NC on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:30 am.
