Shirley P. Caton

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Arthur W. Butler and Florence (Butler) Baptist and the late stepfather, John Baptist. She was employed as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at the Blaire House prior to retirement. Shirley’s best times were being around family friends and attending her grandchildren’s events. She loved Square Dancing, Bingo, Bowling and trips to New Hampshire and long Sunday drives.

Shirley is survived by her children, Tammy Vasconcelos and her husband Robert of Dartmouth, Raymond Caton, Jr. and his companion Terry Alphonse of Acushnet and Mark Caton of Acushnet; her six grandchildren, Raymond Caton III, Christopher Caton, Anthony Caton, Ryan Caton, Hannah Vasconcelos and Heather Vasconcelos; six great-grandchildren, Devon, MaKenzie, Ethan, Anaya, Calvin, Taber, Nash, Kameron and Thea; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church, 125 Main Street, Acushnet, MA 02743.
