Rene John Menard

Rene John Menard, age 80, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Bedford, He was the husband of the late Bernadette A. (LaCroix) Menard; son of the late George and Beatrice (Lareau) Menard. Mr. Menard attended New Bedford Vocational High School and worked as a material handler at Acushnet Company until his retirement.

Rene enjoyed nature, working outdoors and doing yard work. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Wayne A. Menard and wife Diane M. of Richmondville, NY, Joanne Talbot and husband David R. of E. Freetown and Mark Menard and wife Deborah A. of Mattapoisett; his daughter-in-law, Debra J. Menard of Acushnet; a brother Roland Menard and wife Janet of Fairhaven; ten grandchildren, Ryan, Randy, Katelyn, Jordan and Tyler Menard, Michael and Ashley Talbot, Danyel Mazyck, Shantelle Hicks, and Madison White; one great-granddaughter Mila Talbot; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held June 11th at 10 am at St. Francis of Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Burial in Acushnet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
