Rene J. Allain, Jr., 57, of Acushnet passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Medeiros) Allain. They would have celebrated 29 years of marriage in April.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Rene J. and Clara (Pereira) Allain he lived in Acushnet all his life.
Rene served in the United States Army. He later went on to work as a machinist for Accudynamics. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and keeping busy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jarryd Allain and his wife Bryana of New Bedford and Scott Allain of Acushnet; one granddaughter, Adrianna; siblings, Rose Marie Stolmeier of New Bedford, Francis Murray of Bridgewater, ME, Steven Murray and his wife Toni of Fairhaven, and Maria Ann Murray of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
His visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. For tributes/online registration www.rock-funeralhome.com.
