Paulo “Paul” M. Vieira, age 63, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at RI Hospital in the arms of his beloved wife, Gloria (Rebelo) Vieira, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Brazil, he was the son of the late Francisco and Maria T. (Medeiros) Vieira.
Paulo worked at Crowley Tree and Landscape Management as a Landscaper for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who truly cherished everyone he knew. Friends and family were very important, especially when throwing gatherings and parties in his yard. He was the life of the party and made sure you had a shot or drink from the bottles he had belted around his waist. He was a fun, loving man with a big heart, and was always accompanied by his best friend, Lady, his dog. Paulo touched many lives, and he’ll be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife, Gloria, he is survived by his two children, Matthew Paulo Vieira and Melissa Sue Vieira, both of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Owen, Hannah, and Trae; his siblings, Carlos Vieira and his wife Maria of S. Dartmouth, Liliane Cabral and her husband Tony of S. Dartmouth, and Steve Vieira of New Bedford, his sister-in-law Maria Medeiros and her husband David, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the son-in-law of the late James C. and Cezaltina Rebelo who loved him like a son and brother-in-law of the late Manuel Rebelo.
Gloria would like to send a very special “Thank You” to their nephews, Scott and Andrew for all the extra love and care they both gave to their Uncle Paul during this extremely difficult time.
His visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 2:00 – 5:00PM, with a Funeral Service at 2:30PM, in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
