Born in Acushnet on February 4, 1944, the daughter of the late Norman and Gilberte (Guenette) Ostiguy, she was a lifelong New Bedford resident and an active communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church, New Bedford, having served in many roles, to include as a religious education teacher, lector, and Eucharistic Minister.
Pauline graduated from St. Anthony’s High School and Sisters of St. Joseph in Fall River. She also attended the former Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute. Mrs. Seney was a paraprofessional for the New Bedford School Department. She had been retired since 2014. She will best be remembered as a loving, forgiving, selfless person who always put her family and others first.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Seney of Somerset; three sons, David Seney of New Bedford, Daniel Seney and his wife Monique of New Bedford, and Kenneth Seney and his wife Valerie of Berkley; seven grandchildren, Olivia Coucci, Isabella Seney, Julia Coucci, Justin Seney, Jared Seney, Nathan Seney, Lyla Seney; a brother, Nelson Ostiguy and his wife Claudia of New Bedford; a sister, Therese Holbrook of Weymouth; former son-in-law, Michael Coucci; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Normand Ostiguy and mother-in-law of the late Tracy Seney and family, Nicole, London, Natalia, Giovonni, Gianna, Troy, and Grace.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish (formerly St. Mary’s), 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, October 4th from 4-7 p.m. at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will be private.
