Reverend Paul A. Rodrigues

Rev. Paul Anthony Rodrigues, age 79, of Yarmouth Maine and formerly of Osterville and East Freetown died at Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Sunday, March 18, 2012 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Agnes T. (DePina) Rodrigues.

Born on February 1, 1933 in Brockton, a son of the late Ambrose and Edith (Alexander) Rodrigues, he was a 1954 graduate of Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, RI,

He was a pastor of Zion Union Church in Hyannis for 30 years, 1954-1984 and was the pastor of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in East Freetown for 10 years, 1985-1995. After he retired in 1995, he moved to Medina, Ohio, where he ministered in Nursing Homes and also Vesper services at the apartment complex where he lived. He then lived in Freeport, Maine from 2006-2010 with Cheryl, Eben, Abigail and Naomi and then resided in Yarmouth at Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was dearly loved and respected and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl A. Williams and her husband Eben of Freeport, Maine; his son, Mark A. Rodrigues and his wife Michelle of Attleboro and his daughter, Gayle C. Fabian an her husband John of Medina, Ohio; his brothers, Peter Rodrigues and his wife Josephine of Taunton, Walter Rodrigues and his wife Shirley of Warren, RI, John Rodrigues and his wife Jean of Florida and David Rodrigues and his wife Joan of South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jonathan, Stephanie, Erica, Abigail, Naomi and Dominique; great grandson, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Brenda Rodrigues and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 9 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 278 Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
