Norma Mae (Chace) Fairclough, 88, of North Dartmouth, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Milton Fairclough.
Born in North Dartmouth, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Doris (Vigeant) Chace.
Norma was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1954, and worked as a Cord Board Operator for New England Telephone for over 40 years. Her family was her number one priority. She married her high school sweetheart, and unfortunately became widowed at a very young age and raised her four children on her own, along with one of her grandchildren she raised. She was a hard worker, had a heart of gold, was the most selfless person we knew, and was the rock that kept our family together. Her strong faith in God got her through all her hardships and struggles throughout her lifetime. Norma enjoyed bird watching, thrift store shopping, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her loving pets, Ginger and Trooper. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Fairclough and her companion Todd Lenling of New Bedford, Robert Fairclough of Seekonk, Patricia Riley and her late husband Peter of N. Dartmouth, and Milton Fairclough of RI; granddaughter, Lisa Federico and her husband John and their children Elodie and Anabel of New York; grandchildren, Michael Riley and Erin Fairclough of New Bedford, Matthew and Ben Fairclough; several great-grandchildren; and a niece, Elaine and her husband John Dupere of NH; and all the many friends she made throughout the years. She outlived all her siblings who all passed at a young age.
Private arrangements are in the care of ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. For on-line tributes, visit our website at www.rock-funeralhome.com
