New Bedford - Marie (Cormier) Robillard Ponte, 97, died March 18, 2015, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis. She was born on October 5, 1917, in College Bridge, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Vital and Exelda (LeBlanc) Cormier. She moved to the United States with her family when she was five years old and lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of her life. She lived in Provincetown for the past year.
She was a beautician for many years and owned Brooklawn Beauty Salon in New Bedford. She enjoyed being with friends and family. She was a member of St. Julie Billiart Parish in Dartmouth.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Robillard of Provincetown; her daughter, Janet Dube of Bellows Falls, Vermont; grandchildren Ronald Robillard, Jr., Kevin Robillard, Michael Robillard, Nancy LaBeau, and Patricia Carvelli; ten great grandchildren; her sister, Cecile LaPalme of Acushnet; and daughter-in-law, Pauline Robillard of Groton, Connecticut.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husbands Oliver Robillard and Leonard Ponte; brothers Henry, Raymond, and Yvon Cormier; sisters Anna Villeneuve and Marguerite Marotte; and son-in-law Raymond Dube.
Her Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd., Dartmouth, MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marie Robillard Ponte can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
