Maria L. Raposo

Born in Faial de Terra, Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of Maria (Barbosa) Resendes and the late Antonio P. Resendes. Maria was a stitcher for Cliftex Corp. for many years prior to her retirement. Maria loved her family dearly, especially her grandson Logan. Family was extremely important to her. She was known as a very happy person with a contagious smile and laugh. Maria was a devout Catholic, a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and was extremely involved in their prayer group. She also enjoyed cooking and shopping.

In addition to her mother, Maria, she is survived by her daughter Michelle Ribeiro and her husband Paul of New Bedford; her grandson, Logan M. Ribeiro of New Bedford; four sisters, Carmelia Resendes and her husband Tony, Teresinha Gerber, Dina Marques and her husband Victor and Brenda Santos and her husband Robert; and several nieces and nephews.

Maria’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:30AM in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02745.
