Maria Lina Goncalves

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of Angelo and Maria Conceicao (Cruzeiro) Gomes she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Lina graduated from New Bedford High School and earned her Associate’s Degree from Fisher College. She worked as both an accountant and hairdresser.

She loved animals and working in the construction industry. She will always be remembered for being a fashionista and a real go getter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Felipe Goncalves and Courtney Almeida of Fall River and Christopher Goncalves and Cassie Pereira of Fairhaven; a sister, Grace Alves of Dartmouth; and one grandson, Collin Michael Goncalves.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. in Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford.
