Lorraine M. (Poisson) Marot, 88, of New Bedford passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in All American Assisted Living. She was the wife of the late Lionel Marot.
Born in Acushnet, a daughter of Napoleon and Marion (Viera) Poisson she was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Marot worked as a cafeteria manager for New Bedford Schools. Her last school was Gomes Elementary School.
She is survived by a son, Steven Abreu of New Bedford; two sisters, Marian “Minnie” Menard and Lucille Trahan both of Acushnet; a brother, Wallace “Buzz” Poisson of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Ian Abreu, Desiree Abreu, and Savahannah Abreu; great granddaughter, Adriah and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Sherilyn Petrovich and sister of the late Cora Fleurent.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 9 a.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. For online directions/tribute www.rock-funeralhome.com.
