Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Picanso) Rodriques she lived most her life in Acushnet.
Mrs. Souza worked as a stitcher in the local garment industry. She enjoyed going on walks, traveling, going to the casinos and spending time babysitting her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Goulart and her husband Roger of New Bedford and Christine M. Keough and her husband Andrew of Sherborn; five siblings, Clem Rodriques and wife Beverly of Lakeville, Mary Marchant of New Bedford, Alfred Rodriques and his wife Marcie of New Bedford, Roy Rodriques and his wife Lydia of Wareham, and Beatie Silva and her husband Edward of Plymouth; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Thomas Souza and was predeceased by eight siblings.
Her visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2016 from 8:00 to 9:30 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. A funeral mass will be Friday at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
