Jorge F. Silva

Born in Mogadouro, Portugal, a son of the late Antonio Cardoso and Lucinda (Fragoso) da Silva, he immigrated to the United States in his late teens.

Mr. Silva was a Mason for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Clube Recordacoes De Portugal in New Bedford and enjoyed watching his favorite soccer team, Sporting Clube de Portugal. He was an avid table tennis player, having won dozens of trophies and loved walking while listening to music.

He is also survived by his daughter, Susie Silva of Fairhaven; two brothers, Octavio da Silva of New Bedford and Manuel da Silva of Arizona; godchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday, August 16, 2013 6-8 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His funeral and burial will be private.
