John Medeiros, 80, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 17, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Adelino and Amelia (Medeiros) Medeiros he was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Mr. Medeiros was a scrimshaw artist for 20 years and retired in 1990. He also worked at St. Vincent’s Home in Fall River. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, art, movies, Broadway shows and his computer.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Moore and her husband John of Boston; two grandchildren, Lauren Moore Kearney and Rebecca Moore; a great granddaughter, Avery Rae Kearney; cousins, Jack A. Sylvia and Kristine Hebert. He was the cousin of the late Cheryl Souza.
