Henry A. Turek

Henry “Hank” A. Turek, age 65, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 30, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joan A. Turek and life-long companion of Muriel Jones.

Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Henry T. and Angela J. (St. Armand) Turek, he was raised in Acushnet and lived in New Bedford for 40 years.

He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School and attended Bristol Community College.

Mr. Turek had worked as a manager for Speedway for many years.

A lifelong sports fan, Hank especially loved the Red Sox and Patriots. He was a true family man who enjoyed watching his grandson’s baseball games.

He enjoyed playing cards and trips to Foxwoods with Muriel.

Surviving in addition to his companion are two sons, Michael Turek and Brian Turek; his grandson, Nathaniel Turek; his sister Sandy Talbot and her husband Paul; two nieces, Debbie Bolton and Renee Marujo; three nephews, Scott Talbot, Paul Talbot, Jr. and Todd Talbot. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeane Leo and a brother, Henry Leo.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 11 am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 pm. For online tributes: www.rock-funeralhome.com
