Henry T. Preston

Henry T. Preston, 84, of Acushnet passed away Monday, November 20, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Constance A. (Vogel) Preston with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Nathaniel and Frances (Turbak) Preston, he was a lifelong area resident.

He served in the Army National Guard. He worked for National Cash Register Company as a field engineer for almost 40 years. While at NCR training in Dayton, Ohio he met his future wife, Connie. He served on numerous committees in the town of Acushnet, including the Acushnet Public Library Board of Trustees.

Henry enjoyed woodworking, playing cribbage, watching his grandson play hockey, and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Laurie A. Preston of New Bedford, Kari Glenn and her husband Bo of North Carolina, and John C. Preston and his wife Melissa of Plymouth; and his grandson, Nate Glenn of North Carolina.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Community Nurse Home Care staff for the love, kindness and compassion shown to Henry while in their care.
