Gilbert J. Maseda, age 83, of New Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Country Gardens. He was the beloved husband of the late Mona (Richard) Maseda.
Born in Oak’s Bluff, he was the son of the late Rosaline Maseda.
Gilbert was a graduate of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School and worked for the Acushnet Company for many years. Gil will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and gentleness. He was a simple man who lived a simple life, and was a proud veteran of the Army. He enjoyed traveling with his wife before she passed, watching television and collecting Elvis paraphernalia. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his very close “cousins”, Annette Allard and Maureen Kinsley and her husband Robert of RI.
His visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 9:30am to 10:30am, followed by his funeral service at 11:00am at St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
