Gary B. Garman, 69, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was the husband of Susan (Beaulieu) Garman with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge, Ohio, a son of the late Paul and Regina (Bartet) Garman, he was a lifelong resident of New Bedford.
Mr. Garman had worked as a maintenance supervisor at Bedford Ltd and most recently at St. Margaret’s School in Buzzard’s Bay.
He also worked in the field of construction building homes.
Gary was a longtime member and officer of the Dirty Dozen Club. He enjoyed fishing, computer games and competitive game nights with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughters, Tracey DeMello and her husband Matthew DeMello and Amy Rodgers all of New Bedford; his grandchildren, Toni Balestra and her husband Christopher Balestra of Maine and Nolan Rodgers of New Bedford; his great-grandchildren, Harper and Beau Balestra; his siblings, Celeste, Greg, Karen, Suzanne, Lorraine, Annette and Louis; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Camille “Mel” Garman and Ward Garman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 9-11 am in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a graveside service in Pine Grove Cemetery.
