Doris T. McClurg

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Norman J. and Dorothy B. (Chase) Bourgeois, she lived most of her life in Fairhaven. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Mrs. McClurg had worked at the Acushnet Company in New Bedford with her husband George and also worked at Precious Memories Preschool in Fairhaven and the Children’s Depot in Marion.

Doris loved music, singing, gardening, crocheting, shopping and most of all spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her children, Paul Lainey, Susan Lainey, Carolyn Lainey and Sharon Lainey; her brother Raymond Bourgeois; her sister Janice Bourgeois Ferreira; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Jeffrey and Michael Lainey; and her siblings, Ronald Bourgeois, Richard Bourgeois, Delores Bourgeois Richards and Roger Bourgeois.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2020 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 440 Main St., Fairhaven. Burial will be private. For online tributes, please visit: www.rock-funeralhome.com
