Born in New Bedford, he was a son of the late Albert and Irene (LaPointe) Pelletier.
Mr. Pelletier was a Holy Cross Brother for 25 years. He had a long, successful and rewarding career as a teacher for 49 years, retiring this past June. He taught all over the world and touched the lives of many. He was the Principal of St. Francis Xavier School in Acushnet for 10 years and retired from Coyle & Cassidy High School in Taunton.
Known for his outgoing persona, Donald was a wonderful vocalist, enjoyed the theater and watching sports, especially Notre Dame and New England Patriots. He loved the company of his dog, Wally.
His family includes a sister, Doris Spooner and a brother, Raymond E. Pelletier both of Ocala, FL; four nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew.
Visiting hours Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 9 AM in Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase St., So. Easton. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
