Dominic G. Imbriglio

Dominic G. Imbriglio, 89, of New Bedford, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at home following a long illness. He was the loving husband of Gloria L. (Cantara) Imbriglio with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Thomas and Argia (Cardelli) Imbriglio, he had resided in New Bedford for the past 60 years.

Mr. Imbriglio had worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers. In later years, he worked various jobs and took care of the grounds at St. Therese Church.

Dominic enjoyed playing scratch tickets, fixing cars and entertaining those around him. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren whom he adored.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife are three sons, Alphonse Imbriglio and his wife Roberta, Gerard Imbriglio and his wife Deborah and Christopher Imbriglio and his wife Cherylyn; two daughters, Anne-Marie Jupin and Loretta Imbriglio-Topian and her husband David Topian; one brother, Raymond Imbriglio and his wife Shirley; six grandchildren, Timothy, Tanya, Matthew, Cherie, Nicholas and Bliss; five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Justin A. Imbriglio and father-in-law of the late Mark C. Jupin.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 9am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford with a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Joseph- St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Visiting hours Monday, April 18, 2016 from 5-8pm.
