Daniel E. Benjamin

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Theodore and Cecile (Antil) Benjamin, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

He was a graduate of St. Anthony High School and attended U-Mass Dartmouth. Throughout his life, he worked in various jobs from manufacturing, electronics and management.

Daniel enjoyed listening to music, playing the drums, watching movies and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and always made people laugh. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Nicole (Benjamin) Duff of Fairhaven, Justine Benjamin of New Bedford, Ryan Benjamin of Bedford and Christopher Hathaway and his wife Kaitlyn of New Bedford; a stepson, Matthew Ferguson of Acushnet; his siblings, Paul Benjamin and his wife Iva of Indianapolis, Marc Benjamin and his wife Mary Ellen of Taunton, Sr. Denise Cecilia Benjamin, DSP of Jamaica Plain and Louise Benjamin-Salih and her late husband Erdjan Salih of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Grace and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
