Born in Dartmouth, the son of Antone Sylvia and Doris Davis, Arthur lived most of his life in the New Bedford and Fall River area.
Arthur was a machinist at Morse Cutting Tool for 28 years and many years on Berkley Farm. He also served in the United States Navy for two years and was honorably discharged in 1947. He enjoyed camping, golf, fishing, reading and the company of his family and friends.
Survivors include, a daughter, Pamela Tripp and her husband Joseph, son Ronald (deceased) and his wife Darlene, sons Warren, Michael and Gary and his wife Roberta; his brothers, Tony (deceased) and Jack, sisters Shirley and Linda; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Arthur was an honest man of compassion and commitment to his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
His funeral will be Friday, May 12, 2017 at 8 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 9 am in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven. A breakfast will be held immediately following the service at Century House, 107 S. Main St., Acushnet. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 pm.
