Alice T. Hebert

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ralph and Palma (Fontaine) Deneault, she spent her childhood in Boston before moving back to New Bedford at fourteen years old.

Alice graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1944, where she later taught catechism. She was an Executive Secretary to the CEO of Mars Bargain Land for many years before retiring.

Mrs. Hebert enjoyed knitting and carving scrimshaw. She was a very devout catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister at both St. Luke’s Hospital and the Oaks.

She is survived by her children, Donald P. Hebert and his wife Joan of Ware, Dianne T. Forgue and her husband Robert of N. Dartmouth, Richard J. Hebert and his wife Agnes of New Bedford and Rachel E. Hebert also of New Bedford; a sister Gloria Lopes and her husband Lee of Wareham; three grandchildren, Paul, Craig and Keri Hebert; a cousin, Sr. Rita Pelletier of New Bedford and five nieces.

She was also the sister of the late Irene Jette and Leo Deneault.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 8 AM from the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Mary Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Visiting hours, Friday 4-7 PM. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
