Albert R. Hebert, age 82, of Fairhaven passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at St Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Anna B. Hebert. Born in New Bedford, Albert was the son of the late Leon S. and Doris E. (Lincoln) Hebert.
Albert graduated from Coyle Cassidy High School Class of 1953 and then entered the United States Marine Corps where he became a Sergeant. He then graduated from Providence College Class of 1959 with a degree in Political Science. Albert worked as a Financial Manager until his retirement.
Albert’s passion was golfing. He was an avid golfer and served as the secretary/treasurer of the Elmwood Golf Association at Whaling City Golf Course. He loved watching sports and enjoyed attending Fairhaven Social Day. He was happiest when spending time with family and friends. His faith grounded his family. He was known as a lecturer and Eucharistic Minister at the former St. Theresa’s Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Theresa A. Hebert Lemaire and his granddaughter Jillian A. Brune both of Fairhaven, his brother Lee Hebert and his wife Joanne of New Bedford, his sister in law Eva Hebert of Fall River, his former son-in-law, Joseph E. Brune of Dartmouth, his little buddy Duke and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Raymond Hebert.
His Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9am at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 121 Mt. Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Fairhaven Council on Aging, 229 Huttleston Ave, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
