William R. Rafferty, 90, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born August 31, 1923 to the late Earl and Rozella (Naas) Rafferty in Haubstadt, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae (Grisham) Rafferty, granddaughter, Jeanna Drury, and great granddaughter, Madison Sims. He was the owner of Industrial Machine and Tool in New Albany and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a member of the German Club, Floyds Knobs American Legion Post #42, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Survivors include:
Daughters: Sandra Sims
Marjorie Graf and her husband, Thomas
Linda Voges and her husband, Mark
Dixie Greenwell and her husband, James
Sister: Mary Ann Griggs and her husband, James
Grandchildren: Charisse Rothbauer, Timothy Sims, Chris, Chad, Shaunna, and Carey Graf, Rene and Ben Voges, and Shaun Rafferty
15 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Ln, New Albany, IN 47150 with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
