VIOLA R. (BELL) MCCARTIN, 93, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at her home. She was born March 7, 1923 in Frenchtown, Indiana to the late Theo and Lillie (Nolot) Bell. Viola was a charter member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards, working puzzles and word searches, and loved to watch college basketball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald E. McCartin; siblings, Charles Bell, Jr., Violet Sweeney (her identical twin), and Bonnie Nolan; and son-in-law, William Butterweck.
Survivors include her seven children, Kay Grube, Debbie Butterweck, Gary McCartin, Steve McCartin (Sarah), Greg McCartin, Richard McCartin (Paula), and Diane Benedetti (Michael); grandchildren, Amy, Aaron, Alli, Brad, Brian, Matthew, Michael, Ryan, Lauren, Chad, Blake, Lindsey, Mary Michael, Nicklaus, Alex, Wesley, Kyrah, Christopher, Andrew, Justin, Michael, and Erin; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 12:00 pm ~ 6:00 pm Sunday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Prayer Service at 5:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
