Michael R Gardner

Michael Ray “Mike” Gardner, 74 years of age died Wednesday July 26th, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd with his family at his side. He was born July 11, 1943 in Seymour, IN to the late Herbert and Dorothy Marie (Persinger) Gardner. Mike retired after 32 years with the General Electric Company and was a former member of the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Lions Club a volunteer with the Red Cross, HOPE Services of Southern Indiana and a Basketball Referee with the I.H.S.A.A. for a number of years. Mike will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marsha Pegg. Survivors include: Wife of 52 years Sharon J. (Foster) Gardner. Two sons; David M. Gardner (Robyn), and Daniel Lee Gardner (Amanda). Three grandchildren; Matthew, Aidan and Jayden. Two brothers; Monte Gardner (Debby) and Mark Gardner (Karen). Also many nieces and nephews. Visitation 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday July 31st, and after 10:00 am Tuesday August 1st, at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Rd. in New Albany. Funeral Service 12:00 Noon Tuesday August 1st, 2017 at the Kraft Charlestown Rd. Chapel. Private entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.
