Mary Catherine “Mary Kay” Osbourn Wolford, 88 years of age, died Monday, December 5, 2022, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. Mary Kay was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Mary Treston Osbourn She was a graduate of Loretta High School, Spalding University, and obtained her Masters Degree from the University of Louisville.
Mary Kay and her husband, Carl, were founding and active members of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany. She retired from teaching for the New Albany-Floyd County School System after many years teaching at St. Mary of the Knobs School. She was also instrumental in establishing the Gifted and Talented program for the NAFC Schools. Mary Kay had a very giving spirit. She was very active in many civic and religious organizations to include Harvest Homecoming, the Caesar’s Foundation, Alpha Club, Spalding University, St. Meinrad Seminary & School of Theology, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was also a member of the BPOTTAGESWOA camping club.
Mary Kay is survived by her husband of 67 years, Carl H. Wolford; sister-in-law, Trudy Wolford Grove; many cousins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
Visitation will be 2 pm ~ 7 pm Friday, December 9th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 2 pm Friday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 W. Daisy Lane, New Albany with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, New Albany.
