Martha L. McCain Hanger

Martha L. McCain Hanger, 90 years of age formerly of New Albany died Wednesday February 11, 2015. Martha was born August 19th, 1924 in New Albany, IN. to the late James and Ruth (Adams) McCain. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker and was the widow of Merrill Hanger. Martha was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, IN. and was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Rodney R. Sr. and six siblings: Jesse McCain, Celestine Johnson, Fannie Clarke, Mary Angel, Aline Hockersmith and James Buck. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Survivors include: Daughter: Peggy J. Brooks and husband Eddie L. Sr. Son: Merrill L. “Mike” Hanger and wife Betty L. Daughter-in-Law: Brenda K. Hanger Seven Grandchildren: Eddie L. Jr., Michelle, Carrie A., Bryan W., Melinda D., Shannon M. and Rodney R. Jr. and Twenty Great-Grandchildren. Brother: William Buck and wife Sally Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday February 15t , at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated 10:00 am Monday February 16th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Jeffersonville with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
