Linda Rae (Evans) McCabe

McCabe, Linda Rae (Evans), 66, of Floyd County, Indiana, passed away after a long illness on December 3, 2014 at Norton Hospital. She was born in Warren, OH, to the late William and Eunice Evans and grew up in Louisville, attending St. Rita's and Southern HS. Linda was an RN, receiving nursing degrees from WKU and the University of Louisville, the latter granting membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society. She was the Director of Nursing at St. Anthony's prior to becoming a director with Humana Military. She greatly enjoyed her book club meeting at the New Albany YMCA and was a volunteer art instructor with Head Start. Linda encouraged both sons in the Arts, one an accomplished violinist and the other a gifted writer, both voracious readers. Linda is survived by her husband Michael of 45 years, sons Kyle (Kristy) and Christopher, and Louisville siblings Jill Crompton (Ron), Pat Evans (Vicky), and Kerry Rike (Troy Snider). Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday across the street at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Albany. A private interment will be at Cave Hill Cemetery.
